I’ve been thinking about writing a comic book one off. Here’s my first attempt.

PAGE ONE (five panels)

Panel 1. Close medium, low-angle shot of a standard 1950s-built suburban front porch shot from the walkway up towards the porch. The door is looming, leading off the top of the page. Shrubbery adorns the front except where the stairs climb to the porch. There’s a large window to the right.

I wanted to be in a jam band. I was going to play either drums or bass, so I auditioned guitar players. After a few moments of excuses about tone, version after version of hotel california and stairway to heaven, and well-thought-out lectures on why steve vai was actually necessary; I realized the problem wasn’t with the guitar players – it was with me. I wanted to be in a jam band.

I’ve spent the last couple of months hanging out with an amazing girl. It was fun. Today the world doesn’t seem quite as clear as it did when she was around, but I’m sure things will be ok. I’m glad I got to know her better, and I think in the long run things will work out fine.
